Welcome to Turtle Creek Vineyard, where we are dedicated to creating memorable experiences for our guests through artisanal quality, education, and a commitment to land stewardship. Our goal is to connect people with the essence of our vineyard and to foster a sense of community and appreciation for the art of Texas winemaking. Nestled in the Texas Hill Country, our winery is dedicated to crafting exceptional wines that embody the unique character of our terroir.
Dan and Sue founded Turtle Creek Vineyard in March 2016, after being inspired by a previous hiking trip in Italy. During their visit to Tuscany, they explored the beautiful vineyards, olive groves, and villages. Observing the similarity between that region and the Texas Hill Country, their goal was to establish a place focused on agrotourism, stewardship and establish a family legacy for future generations, as well as promoting agriculture and tourism in Kerr County. They firmly believe that ethical practices and hard work will lead to success.
In 2024, the Schulse Family opened their vineyard tasting room eight miles south of downtown Kerrville, Texas. The property also serves as their private working farm, which includes lambs, produce gardens, peaches, pecans and chickens.
Great wine is a reflection of great viticulture practices. Our commitment to sustainable farming ensures that our vineyards are ethically managed allowing the natural qualities of the land to shine through in every vintage. We take pride in our artisanal approach, from hand-harvesting the finest grapes to employing meticulous winemaking techniques that preserve the integrity and complexity of our wines.
Beyond the bottle, we strive to offer a warm and welcoming experience to our guests. The tasting room provides an intimate setting where you can enjoy Turtle Creek wines and learn about the winemaking process from our knowledgeable staff. We also host events and tours that offer a deeper dive into the winery’s inner workings, creating lasting memories and connections with fellow wine enthusiasts.
