Turtle Creek Olives & Vines is housed in a historic building that has proudly stood at the heart of downtown Kerrville, embodying the town’s rich heritage. Constructed in 1890 by Alfred Giles and Captain Charles Schreiner, the building originally served as a Masonic Lodge until 1927. Following the Freemasons’ departure, it became Kerrville’s post office and general store under Florence Butt, the mother of HEB founders Howard E. and Charles Butt.
Over the years, the building has hosted various businesses, including Dell Sheftall’s renowned Sheftall’s Jewelers, which operated from 2004 until his retirement in September 2017. Dell Sheftall, known for his jewelers in Austin and San Antonio, passed the torch to Dan and Sue Schulse.
Today, Turtle Creek Olives & Vines continues the legacy of this historic space, offering a unique wine experience. Here, you can explore a selection of rare and worldly wines, alongside our 100% Texas estate-grown and produced wines and artisanal extra virgin olive oil. Our family-owned establishment provides a warm and inviting space with knowledgeable staff dedicated to guiding you through our curated selection of wines. We aim to deepen Wine appreciation through engaging tastings, informative events, and personalized recommendations. The historic building enhances the overall experience, and our menu features artisanal bites crafted to complement our wines. Whether you’re a seasoned connoisseur or a curious beginner, we are here to share our passion for wine and help you discover new favorites.
